DC Brushless Motor Speed Controller Design using Back Electromotive Force

Gastelo J.M.S.; Diaz E.H.V. · Proceedings of the 2022 IEEE Engineering International Research Conference, EIRCON 2022 (2022) · DOI: 10.1109/eircon56026.2022.9934814

Resumen

Motors are currently the basis of many industrial activities and applications, brushless DC motors have many advantages over the rest in terms of maintenance and efficiency. The rotor position must be acquired to drive a BLDC motor and the position of the rotor is known by hall sensors. The purpose of this research is to deepen the use of control techniques for DC brushless motors that do not require the use of Hall-type position sensors, specifically the one that makes use of the counter-electromotive force to modify the rotation speed of the motor according to with the given requirement.Simulink software is used to develop the simulation and thus test different reference speeds, thus checking the robustness of this control in different situations. As a result of the research, it is obtained that the "Zero Cross Detection"control method is efficient and provides sufficient reliability for its use in industrial applications
