Resumen
This dataset contains physicochemical, microbiological and trophic-state information collected from San Martín Lake, located in Girón canton, Azuay Province, Ecuador. Six sampling stations (AS01–AS06) were monitored during summer (August–October 2021) and winter (February–April 2022). The dataset includes dissolved oxygen, pH, biochemical oxygen demand, nitrates, phosphates, total nitrogen, phosphorus, chlorophyll-a, turbidity, transparency, temperature and fecal coliforms. Data were used to calculate the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF), Oregon Water Quality Index (OWQI), and Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment (CCME) water quality indices. The dataset provides seasonal and spatial information for assessing eutrophication and ecological condition in a high-Andean Lake. These data can be reused for comparative limnological studies, ecological modeling, validation of water quality indices and long-term monitoring programs.
