Resumen
The Pómac Forest Historical Sanctuary, in northern Peru, has an area of 5887,36 hectares of equatorial dry forest, like most tropical forests, it faces a crisis of deforestation and degradation of its landscape. The article addresses this problem and proposes a comprehensive analysis by studying the cycles of territorialization through the adaptation to the Latin American context of the methodology of the Italian territorialist school based on Territorialization – Deterritorialization – Reterritorialization. The creation of a heritage atlas is proposed as a tool for historical environmental analysis that serves as a foundation for the proposal of conservation and sustainable development strategies for the common good of the territory.
