Resumen
INTRODUCTION. Quality of work life considers several dimensions that go beyond the nature of the work itself. It includes psychosocial factors that, in the case of nursing, directly impact health care. OBJECTIVE. To identify critical aspects of satisfaction and dissatisfaction in the quality of work life of nursing professionals in Ecuador. METHODOLOGY. Descriptive cross-sectional study with an intentional sample of 146 nursing professionals in Ecuador. A correlational analysis was also performed with Python software using the Pearson correlation coefficient for the variables between ítems of each dimension and, in some cases, with items of other dimensions, by applying the standardized questionnaire CVT-GOHISALO. Descriptive statistics were used to identify higher and lower levels of job satisfaction. The data were analyzed using SPSS V26. RESULTS. The analysis revealed aspects of dissatisfaction in areas such as job promotion, retirement plans, social security, salary, professional development, and the need to take work home. Greater satisfaction was revealed in aspects related to job performance, the use of skills and potential, the achievement of objectives, and commitment to the institution. The correlations found underline the importance of recognizing work efforts, freedom of expression, respect for labor rights, and institutional support. CONCLUSION. Aspects of both satisfaction and dissatisfaction were identified in each dimension of the quality of work life, and critical factors such as recognition, freedom of expression, and institutional support influence the perception of job satisfaction in Nursing.
