Crisis management resources

Robert J.; Gluski P.; Hardy S.; Metzger P.; Sierra A. · Territorial Crisis Management: From Emergency to Reconstruction (2022) · DOI: 10.1002/9781394169733.ch4

Resumen

With the objective of contributing to the effort to understand crisis phenomena and their management, this chapter proposes a reflection on crisis management resources. It presents the evolution of the issues within the PACIVUR program that led us to consider crisis management as a research object, and then addresses the conceptual implications. The chapter also presents the approach to the identification of crisis management resources, first distinguishing the different types of resources, before detailing the methodological aspects. It returns to the interest of an approach based on crisis management resources. The resource-based approach to crisis management contributes to the production of useful knowledge for crisis management preparation, by emphasizing the importance of territorial dimensions. It also highlights the structural vulnerabilities of the territories, and opens up other avenues for action. © ISTE Ltd 2022. All rights reserved.
