Credibility on facebook among mothers who follow a page about raising and down syndrome

Lopez F.C.; Correa G.G. · RISTI - Revista Iberica de Sistemas e Tecnologias de Informacao (2021)

Resumen

Today the need to share experiences and recommendations through a social network has generated the creation of a new celebrity profile better known as an influencer. They are characterized by publishing and sharing their knowledge and experiences with users with similar interests. In this sense, mothers also play an important role, since they are constantly participating in social networks, especially on Facebook, becoming followers of an influencer. They value in a different way the degree of expertise and reliability that can be perceived from an influencer. This research analyzes the credibility characteristics of the influencer Karla Vergara on her Facebook page “Creciendo con Lu”, in each of its dimensions: reliability and expertise among mothers of children with Down syndrome from 0 to 5 years old living in Metropolitan Lima.
