Resumen
The Friis transmission equation has served for several decades ans still it is being used as an important mathematical tool to test antenna implementation. Although its structure is rather simple, one can wonder if it has some physics behind in the sense that its derivation can be replicated to other similar areas. In this paper, attention has been paid on the methodology of derivation of that equation. Therefore, it was opted by the covariant description because it has allowed to employ different approaches in the Fourier transform as well as the technique of Green function. The usage of these techniques has permitted to arrive to Friis transmission equation in a closedform without any approximation. The advantage with respect to employ the description of covariant technique is seen in the solutions of differential equations that yield function depending on the covariant products more than to be depending on space or time. With this the equation can be derived in its form most general and directly without any assumption as to restrictions in time and space.
