Resumen

In this article, author would like to correct Figs. 3 and 8 which are cropped in the published document. Time series of SPI and SPEI. Specifically, time series are presented for: a) 12-month SPI, b) 12-month SPEI. These series cover the period from 1940 to 2022 and are provided for the six regions into which the Peruvian Andes were divided: Northwest (NW), Northeast (NE), Central-west (CW), Central-Eastern (CE), Southwest (SW), and Southeast (SE) regions Monthly percentage of area affected by drought in six Andean regions (1940-2022). Stacked areas represent moderate (yellow), severe (red), and extreme (brown) drought conditions, based on the SPI-12. The chart displays cumulative drought coverage, with the stacking arrangement designed to maintain the distinct contributions of each severity class © King Abdulaziz University and Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.
