Construction Diagnosis of Wooden Houses “El Mirador - Chanchamayo”

Raymundo L.C.D.; Janampa J.M.; Escajadillo C.S.N.G. · Modulo Arquitectura CUC (2024) · DOI: 10.17981/mod.arq.cuc.33.1.2024.05

Resumen

The province of Chanchamayo is distinguished by its considerable forestry potential; nevertheless, the construction of wooden housing constitutes merely 2% of the 9.1% of dwellings built with sawn wood walls across the entirety of Peru. Furthermore, the nation’s housing deficit is exacerbated by a social housing paradigm insufficiently aligned with its geographic and sociocultural heterogeneity. As a result, the primary aim of this research is to conduct a comprehensive constructive diagnosis of the existing wooden dwellings within the Mirador Sector, employing observation sheets including architectural, structural, and environmental dimensions. The findings indicated that the construction methodologies used in the analyzed houses failed to ensure structural integrity, material longevity, and climatic resilience. These insights provided the groundwork for formulating a prototype wooden social housing initiative, which aspires to offer a sustainable, cost- effective, and pragmatic solution for the local populace. © The author;
