Resumen
Background: Assessment of nutritional status is based on measures such as weight and height, along with body composition and daily dietary intake. On the other hand, psychomotor development includes both motor and cognitive skills, including language and motor coordination. These aspects are fundamental for the growth and overall well-being of children. The aim of this study was to determine if there are differences between psychomotor development and nutritional status in children from two educational institutions, one public and one private Methods: Quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional approach. A non-probabilistic purposive sampling was used. The instruments used for nutritional status (weight and height) and psychomotor development were the Capon Perceptual Motor Development Scale. Results: For the psychomotor development variable, significant differences were observed between the public and private educational institution, while in relation to nutritional status they were not observed (p=0,57). Conclusions: There are significant differences in psychomotor development between the public and private educational institution. However, no notable differences were observed in nutritional status between the two institutions.
