Resumen

Orthographic, lexical and grammatical aspects in the writing of scientific articles has been so far analysed. However, no research has been devoted to coherence and thematic progression. In addition, various linguistic studies are currently being carried out that focus on the analysis of digital discourse. In this context, there is a need to study cohesion in scientific texts related to this area. Therefore, the objective of this research is to analyse the use of cohesive resources in the abstracts of scientific articles on linguistics that address digital discourse. The study is qualitative and descriptive-explanatory, and the corpus consists of 10 abstracts of scientific articles published in the journal Lengua y Sociedad during the period 2021-2025. For the analysis, the abstracts were first segmented into the following rhetorical moves: Contextualisation, purpose, methodology, results, and conclusion. Then, a form was designed to identify and classify the cohesive resources used in the texts. The results show a preference for lexical cohesive resources, followed by discourse markers and, to a lesser extent, grammatical resources. It is concluded that the use of these resources promotes conciseness, textual coherence, clarity of exposition, argumentative sequence and thematic progression, aspects reflect the conventions of academic-scientific discourse. © Los autores.
