Resumen
The objective of this paper is to classify the managerial competencies of general managers in emerging Latin American countries according to Renée Bédard’s philosophical rhombus. A mixed-method exploratory research approach is used to obtain an instrument with 277 managerial competencies. Specialist recruiters from eight emerging Latin American countries are surveyed. From a population of 6,000, a sample of 411 managers was obtained for the quantitative study, representing Peru, Chile, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Colombia, Brazil, and Ecuador. The result was 39 managerial competencies, divided into 25 praxeological competencies, 6 epistemological competencies, 7 axiological competencies, and 1 ontological competency. It is concluded that managerial competencies in Latin America focus on production-oriented environments with the role of manager and developer of performance and productivity.
