Palumbo Pinto G.B.; Tejada Estrada G.C.; Inche Mitman J.L.; Gomero Mancesidor J.M. · Revista Venezolana de Gerencia (2022) · DOI: 10.52080/rvgluz.27.100.12

Resumen

Since the 90s of the last century, throughout the world, national states, as politicaladministrative structures, have found it difficult to address the problems of the population, and are also going through a profound crisis of legitimacy. Given this, one response has been the promotion of citizen participation as a tool to legitimize and increase the efficiency of public management. In Peru, there are different legal mechanisms that facilitate various participation tools. The objective of this work is to describe the perception of citizen participation in public management in Lima, Peru. The work corresponds to a quantitative, descriptive, non-experimental approach. A questionnaire was used to collect information. The results showed that citizens do not actively participate in decisionmaking of public management, political sectors appropriate these mechanisms to favor their own interests, thus generating in the population a perception of inefficiency in the face of their participation in public affairs.
