Resumen

Education requires special conditions to favor learning, and in this sense, lighting is a key factor that can influence learning. Among the characteristics are the level of lighting in Lux and the color temperature in Kelvin. In this sense, this study mainly seeks to verify how sustainable lighting conditions affect academic performance in higher education. The methodology used in the research considers the optical and electrical characterization of the LED lighting systems to determine the optimal values, considering variables in each condition. Also, the analysis for the design and application of an instrument (a questionnaire) that allows identifying and assessing the level of performance of students in different lighting conditions corresponding to subgroups of students The tests carried out in studies related to this show that a higher level of learning was obtained at a specific level of intensity (Lux) and a specific color temperature (Kelvin). In conclusion, we can say that the results of the research show an association between the level of learning of the higher education students and the lighting conditions in intensity and color temperature; in this sense, it is important to provide optimal lighting conditions to improve the student's performance. At the same time, this research will allow students to develop investigative skills and abilities, motivating them to research and creating a multiplier effect.
