Resumen
In Peru, non-typhoidal Salmonella (NTS) serovars have been reported in human cases that could be related to those found in commercial eggs, broiler carcasses and byproducts. The present study aimed to determine the percentage the genetic profiles similarity of NTS serovars isolated from humans and poultry products using Pulsed-Field Gel Electrophoresis (PFGE). Forty-nine bacterial isolates of NTS serovars were obtained from human clinical cases and poultry products (eggs, broiler carcasses, viscera, poultry litter), which were analysed by PFGE. A dendrogram showing the XbaI - PFGE profiles relationship was generated using the Bionumerics v. 7.0 bioinformatics program. The analysis of the generated bands was performed using the Unweighted Pair Group Method with Arithmetic Mean (UPGM) to evaluate the genetic diversity of the isolates. A cut-off value of 90% similarity between the pulsotypes was used to establish possible relationships. It was found that some isolates of Salmonella Typhimurium, Kentucky and Infantis from human and avian origin have identical pulsotypes, indicating that the isolates correspond to the same clone circulating between humans and avian products. © Los autores.
