CEMENTS AND SULFATES IN STRIP FOUNDATIONS

Toro M.R.U.; Cerquín E.R. · Proceedings of the LACCEI international Multi-conference for Engineering, Education and Technology (2022) · DOI: 10.18687/laccei2022.1.1.55

Resumen

Concrete is of ten exposed to chemical attack, the most common and damaging being sulfates, which have a direct effect on its strength and durability, which is why there are several types of cement. This work has been based on the research called "Compressive strength of concrete to sulfate attack in strip foundations made with type I, MS and V cements-Cajamarca-2020" [16], where a comparison of concrete with a fc= 110kg/cm2, made with three types (type I, MS and V), of cement and that was exposed to three levels of sulfate attack: insignificant, moderate and severe according to the National Building Regulations. E.60 [4], where the simple concrete made with type V cement presented a higher resistance to sulfate attack, since its average reduction rate was 0.59%, for type MS it was 3.06% and for type I it was 21.40% with respect to the specimens without exposure to sulfate.
