Resumen
This work focuses on the electric power supply decoupling to the Punta Arenas residential complex in the Petroperú’s Talara Refinery, where we can appreciate the stages that allowed the commissioning of a medium voltage utilization system (13.2 kV - 3ø) in order to supply electrical energy to the Punta Arenas residential complex from the primary electrical grid of the concessionaire ELECTRONOROESTE S.A. (ENOSA), which was originally fed from the main transformation substation of the Talara’s Refinery. The Punta Arenas residential complex, where the administrative workers of the Petroperú’s Talara Refinery reside, needed to know its electricity consumption independently, since it was being billed together with industrial consumption. This requirement was carried out through a SCADA system (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) to monitor the electrical energy consumption of the Punta Arenas residential complex from the concessionaire (ENOSA). And in the same way, an automatic load transfer switch was implemented, for an uninterrupted power supply, conserving as a backup the power supply of the main substation of the Talara’s Refinery, according to the requirement of Petroperú.
