Care, Flourishing, Happiness: The Challenge at Home

Resumen
This paper studies the relation between the notion of care (based on the so-called Care Ethics), our flourishing as human beings (that takes into an account of our bodily needs, our rational nature and its relation to culture), and the results of a long research project on human happiness focused on deep and strong relations. The ongoing pandemic has challenged some of these theses, but at the same time new studies reveal that family has performed an important role in everyday life and when relatives have been sick or have died. This allows us to go deeper into the practice of making and sustaining family life, that includes domestic work based on hands-on care, as a valuable precondition for happiness.
