Resumen
Embedded systems and specialized software have revolutionized the diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases (CVD), especially in regions with limited access to medical services. This systematic review analyzes how these technologies enable early detection and efficient processing of biomedical signals through low-cost portable devices. Using the PRISMA methodology, 396 articles were identified and 21 recent studies from Scopus were selected. The results showed that 52% used ECG signals as the main tool and 76% carried out experimental validations on real devices. Geographically, 29% of the research originated from China, followed by Europe and other Asian countries. Embedded systems stand out for their high precision, energy efficiency, and adaptability, enabling real-time analysis, arrhythmia detection, and support for clinical diagnosis. It is concluded that the integration of advanced software with embedded hardware is a promising solution to improve access to cardiovascular diagnoses in vulnerable populations. This study offers a reference framework for developers and medical institutions, highlighting the need to optimize these technologies for large-scale implementation.
