Resumen
The participation, active or through mentions, of Gamaliel Churata during the Arequipa magazine of the avant-garde period Chirapu (1928) marks a pattern of defense of new art through arguments but also poetic creation. In this article, we will present the theses he uses to validate the phenomenon as a necessary moment, and then be able to understand the avant-garde proposal in his poems “Epopeya del qe buelbe” and “poemas del coyto”. We will present a comprehensive reading of these texts from the formal innovations offered by the avant-garde of Titikaka and from the ideological formulation implied by the ahayu-watan.
