Burden of Tuberculosis in South-East Asia
Ahmad T.; Rodriguez-Morales A.J. · Current Tropical Medicine Reports (2026) · DOI: 10.1007/s40475-026-00377-3
Resumen
The South-East Asia region continues to account for one-third of the world’s new TB cases, with catastrophic household costs, undernutrition, and drug-resistant TB undermining recent gains. Although treatment coverage exceeds 85%, rapid expansion of diagnostics, treatment, care, and social interventions supported by sustained political commitment and stable financing is essential to accelerate progress and meet the End TB target by 2030. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2026.
