Botanical composition and nutritional evaluation of pastures in different silvopastoral systems in molinopampa, amazonas region, Peru

Escobar L.O.; Mejía F.L.; Vasquez H.; Bernal W.; Álvarez W.Y. · Livestock Research for Rural Development (2020)

Resumen

The paddocks of ten producers with similar Silvopastoral Systems (SSP) were selected: two with Silvopastoral systems of Alnus acuminata (SSP1), two with Silvopastoral System of Pinus patula (SSP2), two with Silvopastoral system of Cupressus lusitánica (SSP3), two with Silvopastoral System of Ceroxylon Quindiuense (SSP4) and two under the Open Field System (OFS), to evaluate the floristic composition and nutritional quality of the pastures that are developed in the livestock basin of Molinopampa, Amazonas Region. In each paddock 2 x 3 m plots were installed, then, the pasture was cut at the age of 60 days, twenty pasture samples were collected, and the chemical composition was determined. The levels of in vitro digestibility of dry matter (DIVMS) were better results for the SCA (77.79%), followed by SSP1 (69.19%) and SSP3 (67.17%), surpassing SSP2 (58.13%) and SSP4 (52.54 %) (p <0.05); Furthermore, the best Forage Relative Value (FVR) values presented the SCA, SSP1 and SSP3. Besides, the SSP1 has less presence of undesirable species or weeds. In conclusion, the SSP1 was better because it presented the best indicators of pasture nutritional quality.
