Resumen
The main objective of this systematic review is to determine the applications of biodegradable biopolymers in packaging used by industrial companies in Huancavelica, identifying their benefits and practical possibilities. Scientific articles from the Scopus, Scielo, Google Scholar and Science Direct databases, published between 2019 and 2024, in English or Spanish, related to keywords such as "biopolymers", "biodegradable", "packaging", "industrial applications" and "sustainability" were analyzed. After a rigorous filtering process, 49 relevant articles were selected. The results show that the most researched areas are mechanical properties and environmental impact, highlighting the importance of improving the physical and functional characteristics of biopolymers for their application in industrial packaging. Although the cost of production is higher than conventional plastics, industries are showing a growing interest due to the environmental benefits. No significant limitations in access to scientific sources or relevant methodological restrictions were identified. It is concluded that the adoption of biodegradable packaging could be a key strategy to promote a sustainable environmental culture in Huancavelica.
