Resumen
In 2020, because of COVID-19, Peru experienced rapid growth in the implementation of Big Data technology. The objective of this study is to determine the influence of Big Data knowledge on the financial performance of Peruvian companies, mediated by management capacity. To this end, a correlational quantitative approach was used with a non-experimental design, in which 77 managers of large Peruvian companies included in the ranking of the best companies participated. The analysis technique used was the structural equation model based on variances. The results indicate that knowledge in Big Data has a positive impact on the financial performance of large companies, if it is mediated by a solid management capacity. The research concludes that the implementation, use and knowledge of Big Data in large companies improves significantly when complemented with effective management, which positively influences their financial performance. These findings have important implications for companies that want to embrace and harness the potential of Big Data to improve their financial performance.
