Resumen
The increasing presence of enteric pathogens in natural environments, particularly in water sources contaminated by human activities, presents a critical challenge to global public health.Traditional detection methods such as bacterial culture and PCR, although effective, are slow, costly, and require specialized infrastructure, which limits their application in rural or emergency settings. In this context, optical nanobiosensors based on gold and silver nanoparticles have emerged as promising alternatives due to their high sensitivity, portability, and real-time detection capabilities. This study conducts a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of the scientific evolution of this technology from 2010 to 2025 using the Scopus database. An advanced search strategy employing Boolean operators was applied, and 276 documents were analyzed with tools such as Bibliometrix and Flourish, generating maps of collaboration, thematic evolution, and emerging trends. The results reveal sustained growth in scientific output, led by countries such as China, India, and the United States, with strong representation in chemistry, engineering, and biochemistry.International collaboration networks, influential authors, and highly cited publications that have marked milestones in the development of optical biosensors were identified.Additionally, a shift toward miniaturized devices integrated with mobile technologies and hybrid materials has been observed, enhancing diagnostic sensitivity. This study provides a strategic overview of the field and underscores the need for continued research into the integration of artificial intelligence and standardized protocols to reinforce both environmental and clinical surveillance.
