Resumen
University–industry technology transfer plays a strategic role in the development of carbon capture and utilization (CCU) technologies, in response to global decarbonization and sustainability challenges. However, significant gaps persist in the articulation between academia and industry, particularly in regions such as Latin America, where collaborative solution development remains incipient. In this context, the present study aimed to analyze trends, key actors, and emerging perspectives in the scientific literature on technology transfer applied to CCU technologies. A bibliometric mapping methodology was employed on a corpus of 132 publications indexed in Scopus between 1996 and 2025, using tools such as Bibliometrix and VOSviewer to analyze co-authorship networks, thematic evolution, and institutional distribution. The results show a sustained growth in the literature since 2010, with a notable peak in 2024, led by authors and institutions from China, the United States, Belgium, and the United Kingdom. The predominant subject areas include energy, engineering, and environmental sciences, while the most frequent keywords are technology transfer, carbon dioxide, and carbon capture. Thematic analysis reveals a transition from technical approaches toward integrative perspectives focused on sustainability, international cooperation, and intellectual property. It is concluded that, although the field has achieved a high level of technical maturity, strengthening collaborative networks and institutional frameworks remains essential to accelerate the adoption of low-carbon technologies at a global scale. © LEIRD 2025.All rights reserved.
