Ñiquen-Levy R.; Lopez Berru D.; Evelyn Bardales Rojas C. · Proceedings of the LACCEI international Multi-conference for Engineering, Education and Technology (2024) · DOI: 10.18687/laccei2024.1.1.1737

Resumen

This study focuses on examining the relationship between teleworking and job satisfaction within the public administration of a governmental organization in Lima. Adopting a quantitative approach, the research utilized a descriptive and correlational methodology with a non-experimental, cross-sectional design. Data collection was carried out through a survey applied to 45 employees, and the data were analyzed using the SPSS statistical software. Results revealed a Spearman's Rho correlation coefficient of 0.790 with a two-tailed significance value of 0.000, indicating a significantly positive relationship between job satisfaction and teleworking in the studied context. These findings suggest that teleworking has had a favorable impact on employee job satisfaction, contributing to aspects such as COVID-19 contagion prevention, time optimization, economic benefits, and the possibility of spending more time with family. In conclusion, the study provides empirical evidence that teleworking can be an effective strategy for enhancing job satisfaction within public administration, particularly under challenging circumstances like those imposed during the COVID-19 pandemic. Implications of these findings for human resource management in the public sector are discussed, and future research directions on teleworking and job satisfaction are suggested.
