Resumen
Developing governance has been a challenge in Latin America, especially in Peru, where subnational governments demonstrate a high level of dependence on the central government. The same is true for decentralized educational management bodies, where the quality of service to users is highly questionable. The study sought to analyze the influence of autonomous management on optimizing governance in a Local Educational Management Unit (LEMU) in the Loreto region. To this end, basic research was conducted with a qualitative approach and phenomenological design, using employees from a LEMU in the Loreto region as a study sample. The results demonstrated that decision-making and organization are not priorities in the entity. It was concluded that the entity's management lacks the influence to optimize governance.
