Attitudinal dimension of environmental culture and social responsibility

Ricra-Mayorca J.M.; Romero-Flores L.A. · Proceedings of the LACCEI international Multi-conference for Engineering, Education and Technology (2025) · DOI: 10.18687/leird2025.1.1.871

Resumen

This study analyzes the relationship between the attitudinal dimension of environmental culture and university social responsibility at a private university in Lima. A quantitative approach was adopted, with a non-experimental, cross-sectional, and correlational design, applying Likert scale questionnaires to 114 students in the second academic cycle (cycle 2024-2), selected through stratified probability sampling by proportional allocation. The reliability of the instruments was verified using Cronbach's alpha coefficient (0.821 for social responsibility and 0.850 for environmental culture), and their content validity was ensured through the judgment of three experts. The results indicate a positive and significant correlation (Spearman's Rho = 0.382; p < 0.05) between the two variables, suggesting that institutional policies on sustainability and social responsibility have a favorable influence on students' environmental attitudes, albeit with moderate intensity. It is concluded that strengthening the cross-cutting integration of these policies in academic training and university management will contribute to consolidating a more solid and sustainable environmental culture in the educational community. © LEIRD 2025.All rights reserved.
