Resumen
Introduction: Artificial Intelligence (AI) has transformed human activity, and the educational process has not escaped this influence. The objective of this research was to analyze perceptions of AI in the academic work of students at a university in Lima. Methodology: The approach was qualitative, using phenomenological methodology. Twelve students of both sexes, aged 21 to 24, who were in the penultimate cycle of their psychology degree, were developing their thesis project and had used AI tools in their academic activities. Results: Students differ in their perception of the scope of AI in the presentation of their work. It was found that the university should generate more resources and ethical information on integrity in the management of new technologies. Discussion: AI tools help students in their academic work, but the line of honesty becomes blurred by the accessibility of the information it provides. Conclusions: AI generates a new paradigm in the teaching-learning process. Furthermore, AI should not be seen as a problem but as an opportunity to improve educational quality.
