Argentina as a carnival: Generic hybridity and the critical look of Tía Vicenta magazine

Resumen
In this paper we present the analysis of the Tía Vicenta magazine (1957-1966) of Landrú from a semiotic reading that involves the word-image relationship. The text combines expressive forms of different nature with the purpose of criticizing and parodying contemporary dominant discourses. It shows an absurd reality in which transformation and disrespect for established guidelines so characteristic of carnival, transposed into textual language through literary carnivalization (Bajtín, La cultura popular en la Edad Media y en el Renacimiento y Problemas de la poética de Dostoievski). Transgression and masking are present, because the gender of this publication is transformed from certain elements (burlesque imitation, irreverent distortion of a model, costume use, among others) that make it a heterogeneous object supported by current affairs in Argentine in the mid-twentieth century.
