ArequipaMap: Virtual Map of the Natural and Architectural Tourist Potential of the Province of Arequipa-Peru with a Recommendation System

Resumen

The Department of Arequipa, located in the southern part of Peru, has eight provinces from which Arequipa is the main province of this Department and it is divided into twenty-nine districts. This province has a large number of natural and architectural destinations, which are visited by thousands of local, national and international tourists every year. The Province of Arequipa showed a visitors flow increase during 2016-2019, despite that, as a result of COVID-19 and the restrictions in place, in the last two years, the visitors flow considerably reduced. So, having the objective to increase the visitors flow, facilitate the access to information, as well as disseminating and recommending touristic destinations to the province, in this article we present a Virtual Map with a recommendation system of the Natural and Architectural Touristic Potential that the Province of Arequipa-Peru has, called ArequipaMap.
