Resumen
The objective of this article was to apply TPM and 5'S to increase the availability of a ham packaging line in a food company. The model was developed by integrating both methodologies, focusing on the implementation of the 5'S and autonomous maintenance. The results obtained were that the implementation of TPM and the 5'S methodology in the ham packaging line of a food company has been shown to have a positive impact on improving the availability of the equipment. The results showed a significant increase in MTBF by 62.44% and an improvement in availability of 8.63%, going from 81.02% to 88.01%. These improvements represent a considerable reduction in failures and downtime, which has generated greater production and operational stability in the plant. The reduction of MTTR by 5.54% additionally shows that maintenance has been carried out in much shorter periods of time.
