Application of Network Data Envelopment Analysis for the Determination of Productive Efficiency in a Liquid Hydrocarbons Distribution Plant

Ventocilla A.J.P.; Paredes R.A.; Eskenazy E.J.M. · RISTI - Revista Iberica de Sistemas e Tecnologias de Informacao (2022)

Resumen

The objective of this research is to determine the relative productive efficiency between the business units of a company in the Storage and Distribution of liquid hydrocarbons sector, made up of eight plants located along the coast and central highlands of Peru, the which are differentiated both by resource restriction and by their geographic location. This approach raises different scenarios regarding the dependencies of the units and different performance schemes at the scale of the units. The non-parametric optimization method Data Envelopment Analysis was used for this purpose in its Classic and centralized Network variants, oriented to the input, for constant returns to scale (CRS) and variable returns to scale (VRS). Comparison of the results obtained will allow choosing the evaluation model that best suits this type of organization.
