Resumen
This research was focused on using geomatics as a research methodology to geolocate, describe, analyze, and interpret the archaeological sites located in the Cocahuayco river subbasin, Bongará province, Peru. Various techniques and tools were employed, such as field data collection using GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) receivers of different categories (navigators, cartographic, and differential), the use of satellite images, and data analysis with specialized software such as ArcGIS 10.5, Trimble Business Center 4.5, and Envi 5.1. The results allowed us to generate a detailed record of ten archaeological sites that generally correspond to household architecture and terraces of the pre-Hispanic Chachapoya culture. These archaeological sites were spatially recorded according to the geodetic network in Peru. It is concluded that these sites require an archaeological intervention following the appropriate methodological process aimed at their conservation and enhancement, seeking to promote sustainable tourism and reinforce the local cultural identity. © ARQUEOLOGÍA IBEROAMERICANA.
