Application of Artificial Intelligence for the prediction of financial stress in companies in the wastewater collection and treatment sector

Resumen

Wastewater management is an issue of great importance for today’s society. This importance, which has increased in recent years due to the scarcity of water resources, can also be observed from different points of view: economic, environmental, sanitary, etc. Fundamental actors in the management of this resource are the companies that provide the service. Thus, their good performance becomes a key aspect in guaranteeing the quality of the service and, in order for them to achieve this good performance, it is essential for them to be financially healthy. In this sense, having a tool that would make it possible to foresee the bankruptcy of this type of company years in advance would be very useful to prevent stakeholders, public administration, the environment.
