Resumen
In Mitridates, Rey del Ponto, Fray Francisco del Castillo leads the action towards the apotheosis of Hipsicracia, wife of Mithridates, which poses as an act of poetic justice in homage to the queen, not only for her virtues as a wife, but, especially, for her extraordinary skills as a consultant. She accompanies the king in all his military and political actions. She gives her opinion and knows when respectfully remain silent. Such an act of poetic justice has political connotations and radiates over the advisers Arquelao and Aristión. This piece can be included within the generic tradition of «comedias de privanza», with a positive vision of advisers. The work is actually a tribute to the government advisers, under the veil of the exemplary female model.
