Resumen
Anxiety is one of the main mental health problems, and it may have somatic manifestations, one of them being musculoskeletal problems. Objective: To determine if anxiety is associated with musculoskeletal problems in 6th year medical students who received virtual education. Material and Methods: An analytical, observational, cross-sectional study was carried out. A random sample of 186 students was chosen. The virtual questionnaire was taken, which included the Zung test for anxiety and the Nordic questionnaire for musculoskeletal problems. Results: 70% of the 6th year medical students presented anxiety and 81%, musculoskeletal problems. The prevalence of anxiety in students with musculoskeletal problems was 64%, while in those students without musculoskeletal problems it was 6%, a difference that was significant for statistical analysis (p <0.05). In the multivariate analysis, it was observed that the factors associated with musculoskeletal problems were: hours of study per day, origin and sedentary lifestyle (p <0.05). Conclusions: Anxiety is a factor associated with musculoskeletal problems in 6th year medical students who received virtual education.
