Resumen
Objective: The objective of this study was to determine whether anxiety and depression predict life satisfaction in female university professors who are also housewives. Material and methods: Predictive and cross-sectional design study with the voluntary participation of 233 female university professors from three regions of Peru, aged between 23 and 61, participated voluntarily in the study. The instruments used were the Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale-2 (GAD-2), the Patient Health Questionnaire-2 (PHQ-2), which assesses depression, and the Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS). Results: The results show that the proposed model had a good fit (\2 = 42.00, df = 24, p = .013, CFI = .99, TLI = .98, RMSEA = .037, SRMR = .038), evidencing that depression significantly predicts (p < .001) life satisfaction, unlike anxiety, which does not predict it (β =-.08, p = .50). Conclusion: depression is a significant predictor of life satisfaction in Peruvian female university professors who are housewives.
