Resumen
Climate change, with its unprecedented global impacts, represents a threat to humanity, particularly for Andean populations that inhabit the Peruvian highlands. This study aims to compile and analyze ancestral knowledge on climate indicators for agricultural activities relevant to climate change adaptation among the populations of the upper Salcca River basin, in Cusco, Peru. The research employed a qualitative ethnographic approach, using semi-structured interviews and participant observation. The study recorded 28 biological indicators, eight physical-atmospheric indicators, and five astronomical parameters used in climate forecasting—all related to climate change adaptation. These results reflect the strong historical relationship between the local population and its socio-environmental context.
