Resumen
This case study was conducted with undergraduate students at Ricardo Palma University, Lima-Peru, in the Design of Experiments course between September and October 2023. The didactic methodology employed allowed the application of theoretical statistical knowledge to real-life situations, facilitating the development of practical and analytical skills. The study's objective is to evaluate whether there are significant differences in the number of visits by student/child audiences to the Natural History Museum of Ricardo Palma University (MHNURP) during the years 2018 and 2019. Statistical inference was performed using the t-distribution for independent samples, along with normality and variance equality tests to ensure the reliability of the results obtained. Additionally, SPSS and MINITAB were used for their respective advantages and features. It was demonstrated that there was no significant difference at the 95% confidence level in visits to MHNURP by the student/child audience between 2018 and 2019. It is important to note that this analysis was based on the available samples and the variables considered. Other relevant factors and variables could influence visits to MHNURP and should be considered in future research. It is recommended to implement various strategies to attract a greater number of visits from the studied audience, such as interactive educational programs, attractive exhibitions, special events, discounts, and collaborations with other institutions. Furthermore, exploring other potential actions that could benefit the promotion of MHNURP programming is suggested.
