Resumen
This study analyzes and proposes improvements for the voltage profile of the 60 kV busbar at the Bella Union Substation, located between the Marcona and Chala substations in southern Peruvian area currently characterized by poor power quality and rising demand. The research aims to enhance electrical service reliability by modeling the network using DIgSILENT PowerFactory software. A quantitative, simulation-based methodology was employed, validated with real voltage measurements from 2022. The data revealed that during critical periods, over 29% of voltage values fell below the minimum threshold established by the Peruvian Technical Standard for Electricity Quality (NTCSE). Furthermore, demand projections for 2024 and 2026 indicate that, without corrective measures, voltage levels would deteriorate further to 0.888 p.u. (53.28 kV). To address this, the integration of a 30 MW wind power plant was modeled. Results demonstrate that wind integration significantly improves voltage levels to 1.013 p.u. in the most critical scenario, a 14.1% increase restoring the profile to within regulatory limits. Additionally, the proposed solution mitigates active power congestion from the Marcona Substation. These findings confirm that integrating renewable energy with modern converter technology offers a strategic, sustainable solution for voltage stability in radial systems where traditional reactive compensation is insufficient.
