ANALYSIS OF QUALITATIVE DATA IN EDUCATIONAL RESEARCH

Resumen

Given the potential contribution of qualitative research in educational research, the purpose of this article is to analyze the knowledge and compliance with the standards of rigor and best practices suggested for data analysis in qualitative research, carried out by university teachers. For this purpose, the survey technique was applied to 98 teachers and researchers of the National Intercultural University of the Amazon. Two variables were evaluated: knowledge and application of qualitative research; and compliance with the steps for data analysis for quality qualitative research. It was found that there are still in-sufficiencies in complying with all the steps required to carry out a quality qualitative data analysis, especially related to the stages of coding, classification and verification of the data.
