Resumen
This study aims to analyze some Peruvian political discourses on violence against women that were relevant in the media and disseminated on the YouTube digital platform during the period 2021-2025, as well as the way in which such digital violence is reproduced in user comments. The corpus consists of six political discourses and a selection of seven related comments, chosen based on media relevance, visibility, and patterns of gender bias. Data collection was carried out through a systematic search of official news channels, the subsequent selection and screenshotting of comments. To analyze the political discourses, categories proposed by van Dijk (1999, 2003) are used, in particular the ideological square, which allows us to determine the discursive strategies of representation of the Us (power groups) versus the Others (dominated groups). Likewise, for the analysis of the comments, the theoretical framework of gendertrolling (Villar-Aguilés and Pecourt, 2021) is used to identify the reproduction of violence against women in digital interaction. The results show that both the discourses and the comments reproduce gender stereotypes, legitimize male power, and tend to minimize cases of violence against women. It is concluded that the discourses that make up the analyzed corpus reproduce machismo and sexism, which contributes to the naturalization of violence against women inside and outside the digital space. © Los autores.
