Resumen
This paper investigates the induced voltages along the sheath of non-transposed single-circuit underground transmission lines, focusing on triangular and flat formations of three-phase power lines. Sectionalized and continuous cross-bonding techniques were employed for both formations to assess and reduce induced voltages. Additionally, differences in current imbalances were compared for both line formations within an underground sub-transmission system. The results indicate that the induced voltage on the sheath, generated by the triangular formation, is the same across all phases. However, it is shown that the maximum induced voltage generated by continuous cross-bonding surpasses that of sectionalized cross-bonding by 1.38 V. On the other hand, the induced voltage in all phases differs for the flat formation. In this case, the maximum induced voltage from continuous cross-bonding is higher than that of sectionalized cross-bonding by 10.7 V. This difference in induced voltage highlights the importance of carefully considering the bonding method for flat formations to ensure performance and safety. On the other hand, the results also illustrate that the currents in the sub-transmission system remain constant regardless of the formation type.
