Resumen
This research analyzes the relationship between unproductive time in textile production processes in micro and small enterprises (MSEs) in the Humboldt gallery in Gamarra during 2025. The textile sector is a key industry for the economy, generating jobs, innovation, and competitiveness. However, textile companies face various challenges, such as operational inefficiency stemming from periods of inactivity in their production processes. This study aligns with SDG 9, which promotes sustainable industrialization and the optimization of resource use. The research analyzes the internal and external causes of downtime, as well as its impact on operating costs and company productivity. The study proposes the application of methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and TPM to improve efficiency and reduce wasted time, thereby strengthening competitiveness. The findings highlight the importance of efficient time management in production, as unproductive periods directly affect costs and product quality. It is concluded that the implementation of continuous improvement and operational management strategies can significantly contribute to reducing downtime, fostering the sustainability and growth of the textile sector in Gamarra. © LEIRD 2025.All rights reserved.
