Resumen
During the last decade, Tacna has had an important commercial growth originated by “temporary migrants”, Chilean citizens who cross the border in search mainly of health services. In this sense, border areas make the economies of the countries that make up a border territory benefit from the exchange of goods and services and the generation of business opportunities for the intervening economic agents. The development of businesses based on the tastes and preferences of the potential foreign consumer has been a determining factor for the growth of the city, the markets, different restaurants, and the creation of business growth in the health sector have been crudely affected by social isolation and closure of borders caused by COVID-19. For this reason, the actual research seeks to analyze the impact that the consumption of Chilean tourists has on the businesses of dental professionals in the city of Tacna, and how this economic dependence caused by Chilean citizens has impacted the cash flows of companies and independent professionals in this sector.
