Resumen
Preventive conservation is an important tool for identifying damage and addressing issues in ceramic artifacts. It is often found that certain collections have not undergone conservation work, which ultimately leads to the deterioration of the pieces. The objective of this study was to conduct an analysis of the state of preventive conservation of the pre-Hispanic ceramics held by the Provincial Municipality of Paita 2025. The methodology employed a quantitative approach, basic in nature and non-experimental in design. The results indicate that 40.00% of the pieces have minor physical damage, 46.70% have moderate chemical damage, and 63.33% have moderate biological damage. These results indicate that preventive conservation efforts should be directed toward the care and treatment of the ceramic pieces in order to extend their useful life.
