Villalba Shupingahua J.A. · Metafora (2022) · DOI: 10.36286/mrlad.v3i6.112

Resumen

This article is a semiotic analysis of Josefa Saucedo character, she is a protagonist of the novel Las Saucedo (2015) by Zoila Vega Salvatierra, writer from Arequipa. The methodology used is the semiotics of passions from the perspective of the modal logic of Fontanille, the same that allows detecting the «affective effects» resulting from the opposition between social modalization and individual modalization, the first represented in the conventions of the conservative and traditionalist Arequipa society of the 18th century and, the second, in the principles of the Enlightenment that highlight the value of the individual, introduced in the story by Enrique Ibáñez character.
