Resumen

The eradication of the colonial Lima garbage dumps was handled by the council through the commissioners chosen from among the councilors, assisted by the bailiffs, faithful executors, cajoneros, town criers, carters, police lieutenant, even neighbors. Also, some viceroys actively participated in keeping the capital of the viceroyalty clean, with temporary monetary aid derived from armholes. However, the garbage dumps were generated daily, but the elimination did not go hand in hand, which resulted in streets, squares, convents walls, a river bank with mounds of garbage dumps.
